Association of Child Psychotherapy

This is the website for the nationwide professional body that accredits child psychotherapists working within the NHS and in private practice. It contains many valuable resources, including a find a therapist section, where parents can search by location for a qualified child psychotherapist.

Understanding Childhood

This site collects useful resources for parents on a wide range of common emotional and behavioural difficulties in children and adolescents. The resources are available for download, and have been written by leading child psychotherapists

Young Minds

Young Minds is a not for profit organization that provides resources for young people, families and professionals on a wide range of child mental health topics. The site contains lots of up to date and well-researched information, and the section on common mental health conditions in young people is particularly helpful.

Human Development Scotland

HDS is the home of child psychotherapy training in Scotland. HDS provides various trainings , including the MSc in Psychoanalytic Observation and Reflective Practice, and the Professional Doctorate in Child Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, the clinical training which confers membership of the Association of Child Psychotherapists.

Scottish Association Of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapists (SAPP)

The Scottish Association of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapists provides training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy with adults, as well as providing a geographical search facility for use in finding a fully qualified therapist.

5rights

5rights is a charity which, in their words “takes the existing rights of children and young people (under 18), and articulates them for the digital world”. The foundation publishes papers and advises policy makers on the ways in which digital technology companies and service providers can be more mindful of their impact on children, and respectful of their rights, in the design of their products.
