Reach out

If you feel you or your family could be helped by talking through a mental health issue, or you feel that psychotherapeutic input might be right for you, then please do get in touch.

Our clinicians are available to talk through your concerns over the phone and can advise as to whether therapeutic help might be beneficial. We offer appointments throughout the day and run evening clinics throughout the week, including Saturdays. We are also able to offer sessions via Zoom where we feel this is clinically appropriate.

Welcome

The Anchor Practice is a team of highly trained mental health professionals, specialising in psychotherapy and clinical psychology for children, adolescents, young adults and families, offering clinical appointments in our Edinburgh city centre practice.

Our services

We provide a responsive, evidence-based service for those seeking support with their own mental health, or that of a family member. At The Anchor Practice, we aim to provide a thorough assessment of a child or adult's difficulty, and strive to develop a deep understanding of every individual that we see.

Services for Schools

We offer a variety of clinical, consultative and policy development services to schools in the public and private sectors - across primary, secondary and specialist provisions. Our clinicians can provide in-house mental health services for pupils or can offer individual consultations as required.

  • Direct clinical work
  • Consultative services to senior leadership teams
  • Work discussion groups for staff
  • education and training

  • Whole School Mental Health Screenings
At Merchiston, the wellbeing of our pupils isn’t an add-on, it’s a foundation for everything we do. When young people face personal challenges, we want to ensure they have immediate access to high-quality, professional support that equips them with lifelong tools for self-awareness and resilience.”
